Dr Wiener's research interests include the pathophysiology of kidney stone disease, particularly from the perspective of comparative and evolutionary biology. 他已经完成了工作, 在加州大学旧金山分校, on how the shape of the papilla in the kidney is related to kidney stone formation and how the fluid flow patterns within the tubules called nephrons contribute to this process.
